As an undergrad, I was hustling left-and-right to make some extra money to pay for things like food, web hosting, and travel. There was an IEEE group at the Texas A&M university looking for a website for their conference, for things like registration, schedules, and other standard info. Someone recommended me for the gig, and I gladly took it on.
I liked working with their team. But with working on any project that involves a timed event, no matter how nice people are, it becomes a pretty demanding experience with things like ticketing and reminders to attendees.
