In working on outreach and sales for OpenCurriculum, I was consistently disappointed by the ordinariness of sales tools in the market that I was using to track leads and communication. They were either overly simplistic, or required a big change in your process and lot's of third-party integration tools for it to work well with other data your software was tracking about the users.
So I took out 4 hours one day and built a better CRM (and temporarily named it "Simple CRM"). It is directly tied to OpenCurriculum's user base, and can send campaigns, track opens and clicks, and manage leads. Sometimes, building is so much better than buying, and in this case, it was true for a domain which isn't even where my expertise lies.
