For more than a year between 2010 and 2011, I created, launched, and maintained the website for the School of Computer Science of Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, upon the request of a professor I really enjoyed learning from.
It was a fun project to be a part of, but it was a lot of work. I gained respect for people who build and maintain company or organization websites using content management systems. Because even without a whole lot of code, it takes enormous effort to glue together the already available pieces and represent the content well. We had calendar listings for events, faculty profiles, research projects, photo galleries, and more on this website.
