Growing increasingly apprehensive about everything capitalism in college, the prospect of working at a company named Inkling got me very excited. Inkling was taking traditional college textbooks of traditional publishers, and making them digital, interactive, and iPad-friendly, all through using the best of web technologies. For a person like me who was infinitely curious about the role and potential of textbooks and building web apps, this was just so exciting.

I spent a summer interning for Inkling in San Francisco between the formal break between my undergraduate and masters education. I worked on the front-end of their textbook design / digitization tool called "Habitat". I also worked on a very important very-non-intern project to turn books designed for print into digital automatically flowing web-based iPad-friendly books.

Today, Inkling is no longer focusing on textbooks.
