One of the many things I did in early 2017 was come up with a small creative agency called Accelerated Studio. I was surprised by how few companies cared for the market of small businesses and startups in helping them shape their messaging and put out excellent quality video explaining their products. This was a low-margin agency idea, but I think there was a lot of need here.
I had, over the past decade, come up with a lot of creative explanatory video for projects for my own work and for others. I had worked on my storytelling craft, animation, illustrations, and information graphics video work.
I talked to clients and did this work for 2 months before realizing that while the need existed and I could provide the really good solutions, the work didn't excite me. I happily handed the agency to a very capable indie filmmaker.
